S Korean president proposes to build eco-park on inter-Korean border |

South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun said Wednesday that his government is willing to create an ecological park in the 4-km-wide demilitarized zone (DMZ) between South Korea and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
South Korea and DPRK will closely cooperate to establish a joint ecological system across the Korean Peninsula, Roh said at a ceremony here.
Roh proposed to remove military facilities within the DMZ and create a peace and ecological park there during his summit talks with DPRK top leader Kim Jong-il in Pyongyang last week, local media said.
