Argentina's Federal Police Wednesday seized five kg of cocaine in a crack down which netted a 16-member drug trafficking gang allegedly headed by two women.
The gang allegedly sold drugs brought from Bolivia, a police spokesman said.
The arrests came after months of intelligence work in Villa Lugano, Villa Soldati, Ezeiza, Lomas de Zamora and Claypole in the Argentine capital.
The unidentified arrestees were nine men and seven women, said the police, adding that two of the women were allegedly heading the organization, one from Bolivia and the other Argentina.
Police also seized large amounts of chemicals and weapons, as well as a number of vehicles.
