U.S. First Lady Laura Bush will arrive in Jordan on Thursday on the last leg of her Middle East tour aimed at promoting fighting against breast cancer, official Petra news agency reported here Tuesday.
Bush is expected to meet King Abdullah II and unveil an architectural model for a specialized U.S.-funded center to carry out breast cancer tests, the report said.
Laura Bush kicked off her visit on Saturday to the region, which includes the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan.
Her tour also aims at restoring the US image in the Middle East battered by the US-led invasion of Iraq.
The U.S. First Lady last visited the Middle East in 2005, stopping in Jordan, Egypt, Israel and the Palestinian territories to promote freedom, education and the role of women.
