Senior Syrian and Algerian officials called here Tuesday for a unified Arab stance at the international circles regarding the regional issues.

Syrian Speaker of the People's Assembly (parliament) Mahmoud al- Abrash and his visiting Algerian counterpart Abdul Qader Bin Saleh made the call in a meeting on mutual concerns and the latest developments in the region, reported Syria's official SANA news agency.

During the meeting the two speakers called for coordinating Arab stances in the face of challenges to the region.

They also discussed cooperation between the two parliaments and coordinating stances with Arab and friendly foreign parliaments to take one stance towards Arab issues, SANA said.

According to the report, Bin Saleh expressed appreciation over Syria's supportive stances to the Algerian people, showing his country's support to Syria's firm stances in light of challenges and pressures.

Bin Saleh arrived in Damascus on Monday for a four-day visit in Syria.
