Syria and Algeria stressed on Thursday the importance of the Arab solidarity in the current circumstances and the necessity to activate joint Arab action.

Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Thursday held talks with visiting Speaker of Algerian Parliament Abdul Qader Bin Saleh on bilateral ties and issues that concern the Arab nations.

They also vowed to continue coordination and consultation between the two countries to serve interests of both peoples.

Syrian Speaker of the People's Assembly (parliament) Mahmoud al- Abrash met with Bin Saleh on Tuesday, calling for a unified Arab stance at the international circles regarding the regional issues.

The two speakers also called for coordinating Arab stances in the face of challenges to the region.

Bin Saleh arrived in Damascus on Monday for a four-day visit in Syria.
