Vietnamese Ambassador to Angola Nguyen Dinh here on Thursday said his country wants to expand cooperation with Angola in such sectors as building materials, electronics, tourism, plastics and motorcycles.
Nguyen Dinh made the remarks at the Luanda international airport when receiving a Vietnamese business delegation that will pay a five-day visit to Angola to identify possible areas for bilateral cooperation.
The Vietnamese ambassador said the 20-member delegation will also attend a workshop designed for Vietnamese and Angolan businesspeople and the two sides will sign a trade cooperation accord to strengthen bilateral cooperation ties between the two countries.
According to the diplomat, Vietnam's exports to Angola mainly include textiles, foodstuffs, rice, shoes, farm machines, bicycles and motorcycles. He said Vietnam exported 70 million U.S. dollars worth of goods to Angola in 2006 and the figure is increased by a big margin this year.
"Vietnam's export volume so far has reached up to 90 million dollars," he added. However, he said, Vietnam intends to reverse this situation and embarks on the construction of factories for building materials, computers, TV sets, bicycles and motorcycles.
