South Korea and the Democratic People' s Republic of Korea (DPRK) will hold meeting on Friday to prepare for the upcoming prime ministerial talks, South Korean government said.

"We will try to reach an agreement on the details of the prime ministerial talks," said South Korean Vice Unification Minister Lee Kwan-se, who will lead a South Korean delegation to participate in the preparatory meeting, before leaving Seoul for DPRK's border city of Kaesong.

Officials of the Unification Ministry said that several rounds of preparatory meetings might be held before the prime ministerial talks is held in mid-November.

Under an agreement reached between South Korean President Roh Moo-hyun and DPRK top leader Kim Jong-il in early October, South Korean Prime Minister Han Duck-soo will meet his DPRK counterpart Kim Yong-il in Seoul in Novermber.

South Korea has proposed to hold the talks from Nov. 14 to Nov. 16, while DPRK has not yet given response, the Unification Ministry said.
