The Iraqi parliament on Tuesday unanimously approved the appointment of two new ministers to replace ministers from the Shiite Sadr movement, who quitted Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's government six months ago, state-run television reported.
In its 20th session, the parliament unanimously approved the appointment of Ali al-Bahadili to the post of agriculture minister and Salih al-Hasnawi to the post of health minister, the Iraqis Channel said.
"Both the new ministers are technocrats, well qualified and experienced," the television said.
Ali al-Bahadili was formerly the agriculture minister in the cabinet of former prime minister Ibrahim al-Jaafari.
Earlier in the year, the Sadr movement, Iraqia List and the Iraqi Accordance Front, a Sunni bloc pulled out their 17 ministers from the cabinet protesting the performance of Maliki's government. But two of them refused to comply and returned to the cabinet later. Source: Xinhua
