A U.S. soldier was killed by an explosion near his vehicle in north of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Friday.
The attack took place on Wednesday while the soldier's unit was conducting operations in Salahudin province, a military statement said.
Earlier, the military said that two more soldiers were killed and two others were wounded on Wednesday by a roadside bomb explosion near their vehicle in the northern province of Nineveh.
The names of the deceased soldiers are being withheld pending notification of next of kin, the statements added.
The latest deaths bring the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq to about 3,845 since the outbreak of the Iraqi war in 2003, according to media count based on Pentagon figures.
