The Slovak government approved the withdrawal of the last two soldiers from Iraq by the end of the year, which means the definitive end of Slovak military presence there, Defense Minister Frantisek Kasicky said on Wednesday.
"To date there are only two soldiers in Baghdad, and they will return home soon," Kasicky said.
The last two soldiers operate at the headquarters of the Iraqi Freedom operation, according to the report reaching here from Bratislava, Slovakia.
The plan is yet to be approved by the parliament.
Slovakia deployed over 100 non-combat troops in Iraq in 2003, with most of them engaged in dismantling land mines.
They returned from the mission in Iraq earlier this year, with 11 Slovak officers staying there to help train Iraqi armed forces and assist in the coalition staffs.
Slovakia has about 530 soldiers in foreign missions at present.
