Three Palestinian militants were killed and two others wounded on Thursday afternoon in an Israeli airstrike on their car in northern Gaza Strip, Palestinian paramedics and witnesses said.
The witnesses said five militants, of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades from President Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, were in a car that was driving near the town of Beit Lahia in northern Gaza Strip.
They said they heard a huge explosion shortly before hearing the buzz of a reconnaissance drone flying over the area, adding that an Israeli air-to-ground missile hit the car.
Ambulances evacuated the five young militants to a hospital in northern Gaza Strip, they said, adding that one of the two wounded militants were in critical conditions.
The witnesses also claimed the five men were on their way back to Gaza after launching two homemade rockets into southern Israel town of Sderout.
Israeli radio quoted the Israeli army sources as saying that a r ocket landed near Sderout but caused no damages or casualties. Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades had earlier claimed responsibility for launching two homemade rockets into Israel.
"The rocket attack is a natural response to the daily crimes committed by Israeli against the Palestinians," the group said in a statement. Source: Xinhua
