Delegates to the 23rd Francophone Ministerial Meeting have called for their countries to promote cooperation, mainly in the fields of education, health, environment and culture, Lao newspaper Vientiane Times reported Thursday.

The biennial meeting concluding on Wednesday in Laos' capital Vientiane also asked the International Organization of Francophone to consider increasing financial support for promoting the use of the French language in Southeast Asia.

Besides, the two-day meeting discussed political and economic issues of common concern.
