Two bomb explosions rocked the Iraqi capital on Saturday morning, leaving five people wounded, including three policemen, an Interior Ministry source said.
A roadside bomb detonated near a passing police patrol in Baghdad's northeastern neighborhood of al-Shaab, wounding three policemen, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
The blast set one of the patrol's vehicles ablaze, the source added.
Another bomb went off inside a taxi in the Baghdad al-Jadida district in southeastern Baghdad, severely wounding the taxi driver and a bystander while damaging three nearby civilian cars, he said.
First police reports said that a passenger left the bomb inside the taxi, the source said.
Earlier, a source from the same ministry said that a civilian was killed and four others were injured when a suicide bomber blew his explosive-laden car near the al-Madain Hospital in the SalamanPak area, some 30 km southeast of the capital.
Violence continues in Iraq despite the announcement of U.S. and Iraqi officials about a steep drop of violence as a result of a major security plan aimed at checking the insurgency and sectarian strife in the country.
