More than 40 persons were injured when a passenger train rammed into another at Saharsa railway station in the northern Indian state of Bihar Saturday morning, according to police here.

The accident occurred when Saharsa-Forbesganj passenger train rammed against the rear of a stationary Saharsa-Katihar passenger train which was about to leave from platform number three around 7 a.m. (0130 GMT) Saturday.

Due to indignation, the passengers assaulted the assistant station managers and the driver of Saharsa-Forbesganj Passenger Basudev has been taken into custody.
