Four Israeli army soldiers were lightly injured Sunday evening when a mortar shell fired from the Gaza Strip hit a building of an army base in southern Israel, local media reported.
The injured soldiers, three men and one woman, were wounded by pieces of shrapnel from the shell and evacuated for medical treatment.
Palestinian militants in Gaza fired 15 mortar shells at the western Negev on Sunday, the report said.
Earlier in the day, militants also fired two Qassam rockets from the northern Gaza Strip. The rockets struck open fields, causing no damages.
Israeli troops over the weekend killed six Palestinian militants in the southern Gaza Strip, five of them members of military wing of Hamas.
