Hundreds of Christmas trees are being sent from New York to U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East to make the holiday brighter, a U.S. radio reported Sunday.
DHL, the world's leading express and logistics company, says the shipment is teamed up with a nursery and members of the local community to donate and deliver 500 Christmas trees and holiday decorations for the troops.
The shipment is being loaded onto a DHL plane at JFK airport and will lift off on Tuesday evening for Bahrain. From Bahrain, DHL will deliver the trees to U.S. military camps in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kuwait.
Since 2004, DHL has handled deliveries of hundreds of Christmas trees donated by DHL and local businesses and nurseries.
