The shortage of labor in Norway has never been as drastic as it is now, said reports Tuesday.

Norwegian enterprises lack more than 132,000 employees, according to a survey carried out by the Norwegian Labor and Welfare Organization NAV.

Some 44 percent of Norwegian enterprises are struggling in their efforts to hire staff, and every four of Norwegian enterprises are badly in need of more workers, NAV said in a statement.

It added that the building and construction industry has most problems in filling vacancies, but other segments of the industry also have such problems. Many enterprises say they could earn even more money if they had enough staff.

The survey was carried out by NAV in October and about 1,000 enterprises responded to the survey.
