The Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) has confiscated an ammunition cache in eastern Afghan province of Nangarhar, said a statement from the U.S.-led Coalition forces on Thursday.

The ANSF planned and executed the mission on Wednesday in Lamatak Village after receiving credible information of a possible ammunition cache in Sherzad Dara Noor District, the statement said.

The ANSF located and searched the suspected area where they found and recovered one anti-tank mine, two anti-personnel mines, two hand grenades and 186 rocket propelled grenade boosters, it said.

Citizens of the village provided information to the ANSF on the location of the cache, said the statement.

"Afghans citizens are taking responsibility for their protection and safety every day," said Army Maj. Chris Belcher, a Coalition spokesman, "This is an excellent example of Afghanistan developing its own intelligence and preventing Taliban fighters from wounding and killing Afghan civilians."
