The latest snowstorm is expected to hit across U.S. Midwest and the northeast region starting on Saturday, warned the National Weather Service.
The winter storm is "pushing eastward from Central Plains into Northeastern U.S.," it said, adding that "the storm is expected to produce heavy snow over the next couple days."
Storm warnings and watches extended Saturday from Missouri across parts of Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine, it said.
In Chicago, more than 200 flights were canceled because of the weather at O'Hare International Airport, and other flights were delayed 30 minutes to an hour.
Snow started to fall across the region on Saturday, up to 38 cmis expected for some places after last weekend's storm hit much of the midwestern Plains before dumping heavy snow on New England.
The storm killed at least 38, mostly in traffic accident, and cut off power supplies to over a million households, of which some300,000 were still in blackout.
Officials said the coming storm could complicate efforts to restore power supplies to households and businesses.
