A U.S. unmanned plane crashed near the town of Muqdadiyah, 100 km northeast of Baghdad, the U.S. military said on Tuesday.
The U.S. Air Force MQ-1 Predator unmanned aircraft crashed at about 1:30 p.m. local time on Monday, a military statement said. "The MQ-1's primary mission is conducting armed reconnaissance," it said.
The statement did not say what caused the crash, but said aboard will be convened to investigate the incident.
