S. Korea's presidential polls end with low voter turnout rate |

The presidential polls throughout South Korea closed at 6 p.m. (0900 GMT) Wednesday.
The election watchdog said that as of 5 p.m. (0800 GMT) 57.6 percent of 37.65 million eligible voters cast their ballots at 13,178 polling stations nationwide from 6 a.m. (2100 GMT Tuesday) to 6 p.m..
The ballot counting will begin at 7 p.m. (1000 GMT) at 249 counting stations across the country. The official result of the election is expected to be announced later on the day.
According to an exit poll by the KBS broadcast, Lee Myung-bak enjoys 50.3 percent of the respondents. Source: Xinhua
