Four Palestinian militants were killed and three others wounded during an Israeli army forces incursion into central Gaza Strip on Thursday, witnesses and medics said.
The witnesses said that at least ten Israeli army tanks, armored vehicles and bulldozers rolled into east of al-Mughazi refugee camp in central Gaza amid intensive gunfire.
Several Palestinian militants clashed with the Israeli army forces, during which four militants were killed and three others wounded, they added.
Three of the killed are members of Islamic Jihad (Holy War) movement's armed wing and the fourth is a member of the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), according to the witnesses.
Medics at al-Aqsa Hospital in central Gaza Strip said that the bodies of the four killed and the three wounded were rushed into the hospital by ambulances.
Israeli Radio in Arabic quoted an Israeli army spokesman as saying that one Israeli soldier was injured during the operation, adding that the operation "is limited and part of the routine."
The spokesman said the operation is aimed at reining in Gaza militant groups which keep launching homemade rockets and mortar shells at Israel. Source: Xinhua
