Thousands of staff at seven of Britain's busiest airports on Friday voted to stage strikes in the new year in a protest over pay, British Sky News reported.
Workers at the world's biggest airport operator BAA decided to stage two 24-hour strikes on January 7 and January 14, as well as a 48-hour strike on January 17, the report said.
They are angry about BAA's decision to close the final salary pension scheme for new employees.
The strikes will affect all seven of BAA's airports, Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Southampton.
Workers involved in the strike include 5,000 airport firefighters, security and maintenance workers, and administrative and clerical staff.
