A total of 50 passengers were injured Monday when a bus overturned on highway in Costa Rica, the country's newspaper La Nacion reported.

The accident occurred on the Saopin Highway, which links Guapiles and Guacimo in Limon Province on the Caribbean coast, La Nacion cited police source as saying.

Initial investigation suggested that the bus was speeding and the driver lost control on a section of road under repair.
