Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko stressed on Monday that it is necessary to create a new format of dialogue among the president, the prime minister and the parliamentary speaker, in order to enhance effective cooperation between the branches of power.
During a meeting with new Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and Parliamentary Speaker Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Yushchenko said he plans to take part in meetings of the Cabinet of Ministers each week and talk with the prime minister and the speaker each day, the presidential press service said in a statement.
Yuschenko also put forward an initiative to hold weekly meetings between the three parties to discuss national policies and priorities.
"It is convinced that among strategic goals of the dialogue should be such initiatives as increasing competitiveness of Ukraine's economy, fighting corruption and improving an investment climate," Yushchenko said.
Ukraine's parliament approved Tymoshenko as prime minister last Tuesday. Her cabinet was sworn in on the same day.
