Afghan President Hamid Karzai arrived here Wednesday for a two-day visit to hold talks with Pakistani leaders on the cooperation against Taliban and al-Qaeda as well as security along the border areas.
During his visit, Karzai will hold official talks with his Pakistani counterpart Pervez Musharraf later Wednesday.
Pakistani Foreign Office spokesman Muhammad Sadiq said that the two sides would discuss all the bilateral issues and cooperation with each other in fighting against extremism and terrorism.
The two sides would also discuss ways to further improve the security situation in the bordering areas, according to officials.
The Pakistani foreign ministry said that the Afghan president's visit is "essentially a goodwill visit and expression of solidarity with Pakistan".
It is Karzai's second visit to Pakistan within two years. He visited the country in February 2006, during which he expressed solidarity with the Pakistani government over the October 2005 devastating earthquake in which over 70,000 people were killed. Source:Xinhua
