An earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale shook Lampung Province, southern Sumatra Island in Indonesia, on Tuesday, but there was no immediate reports of casualties and material damage.
The quake which occurred at 01:34 p.m. Western Indonesian Time, according to information from the country's meteorology and geophysics agency (BMG).
The earthquake's epicenter was located around 96 km southwest of Krui-Krui, Lampung, at a depth of 50 km. The temblor did not have the potential to trigger a tsunami, BMG said on its website.
