Six people were killed and four were later recovered after a small plane crashed into the waters off the southern Alaska coast Saturday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said Sunday.
Minutes after its take-off from Kodiak Island, the Piper PA-31 Navajo Chieftain plane crashed into the sea, FAA said in a statement.
A nearby float plane bailed four people out, but the rest six on board, including the pilot, were confirmed dead.
The plane belongs to a company which uses small planes to transport people between islands in southern Alaska.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
