Israeli forces shot dead a Palestinian civilian in central Gaza Strip and wounded four others during a ground military operation, a hospital official said on Sunday.
Mu'awia Hassanien, director of ambulance service, said the Israeli forces, which rolled this morning into al-Burij refugee camp, opened fire at a group of people and killed 17-year-old ZiadAbu Rokba.
Four other Palestinians were wounded at the start of the incursion in central Gaza Strip. Witnesses said Israeli soldiers and the Palestinian gunmen exchanged fire and four were wounded.
Earlier, Israeli air force attacked a group of Palestinian militants in eastern Gaza city, killing one and wounding two, medical sources said.
The predawn air strike killed Mohammed al-Rab'i, 36, and moderately wounded two others. According to Hamas, the raid targeted a joint group of its fighters and militants from the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), an armed group comprising fighters from several factions.
On Saturday, a Hamas militant was killed in Israeli artillery shelling in northern Gaza Strip.
The tank shells followed the launching of eight home-made rockets into southern Israel city of Sderot by the PRC fighters. Source:Xinhua
