A car bomb went off in a northern Baghdad neighborhood on Sunday killed three people and wounded 13 others, an Interior Ministry source said.
The car bomb parked on a main road in the neighborhood of Qahirah detonated after midday, killing three people, including a policeman, and wounding 13 others, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Around midday, a suicide bomber wearing an explosive vest blew himself up among soldiers and civilians gathered outside an Iraqi army headquarters near the municipal council of Karrada, killing at least four people and wounding seven others, a ministry source said.
The gathering was meant to celebrate the 87th anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi Army.
The toll from the suicide attack could rise, the source said.
However, a police officer anonymously told Xinhua that nine people were killed and 17 others wounded. Several soldiers were among the killed and wounded people, he said. Source:Xinhua
