Venezuelan authorities continue to search for the light aircraft that went missing in the Caribbean on Friday with 14 aboard, national authorities said on Sunday.
The navy had sent its oceanographic vessel for the search and nearby Dutch-owned island Curacao had offered an electronic search aircraft, Antonio Rivero, head of Civil Protection and Disasters said.
The twin-engine craft crashed into the sea south of the Los Roques archipelago after taking off from Maiquetia, the nation's main airport in Vargas state that is 30 km from Caracas.
According to the Civil Protection and Disasters, the 14 aboard are eight Italians, one Swiss and five Venezuelans.
Rivero said they still have not found clues that would allow them to locate the plane. Rescuers are covering an area of around 400 nautical miles south of the archipelago, he said.
Rafael Torres, head of air navigation services at the National Civil Aviation Agency, said an operation center has been set up at the archipelago to coordinate rescue work of state agencies and private companies.
State helicopters and private planes are working with boats passing through the possible accident area, Torres said.
