As many as 50 people were injured, 10 of them seriously, in an emergency landing incident involving an Air Canada flight in Canada's western city of Calgary Thursday, reports said.
Ten passengers, believed to be injured seriously, are being assessed by medical personnel and the Calgary Airport Authority are treating the incident as a first-class emergency, Canadian Television (CTV) reported.
As many as 40 others suffered minor injuries, it said.
The Airbus A319 was flying from Victoria to Toronto when turbulence forced it to make an emergency landing at 8:30 a.m. (1530 GMT) in Calgary, an official from the Calgary Airport Authority told reporters.
CTV said there were 91 people on board the Flight AC 190, including five staff. But a Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) report put the number at 88, including five crew members.
