Two Hamas militants were killed and six others wounded on Saturday evening in an Israeli airstrike ona Hamas military base in southern Gaza Strip, medics and witnesses said.
The witnesses said that an Israeli aircraft fired two missiles at a military base belonging to Hamas armed wing, al-Qassam Brigades, in east of the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.
They said that two explosions were heard in the area, and then ambulances and rescue teams arrived at the scene and evacuated the casualties.
Medics at the Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis said that two Palestinians were killed in the Israeli airstrike, adding that six others were injured, two in serious conditions.
The two Hamas militants were identified as Aahead Abu Aayda and Mohamed al-Breim. An Israeli army spokesman confirmed the airstrike on the Hamas base, saying an armed cell that fires mortars at Israel was hit. Source:Xinhua
