Former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad visited Indonesia's former President Soeharto at the Pertamina Hospital Monday.

Accompanied by several staff from the Malaysian Embassy here, Mahathir entered the hospital under tight security without making any statement to waiting journalists.

Earlier in the day, the doctor team said Soeharto's condition has slightly improved after being treated for 11 days.

"Soeharto could open his eyes spontaneously," the team's head Dr. Mardjo Soebiandono said when describing Soeharto's improving condition.

But Soeharto, who has ruled the country for 32 years, is depending on machines and medicine to stay alive, he said.
