At least five Palestinians were injured by Israeli tank shells in eastern Gaza city on Tuesday morning, witnesses and paramedics said.
The witnesses said that a number of Israeli tanks and bulldozers slowly rolled into the border areas in the east of Gaza City since dawn, while the bulldozers leveled makeshift installations and agricultural fields.
The tanks opened heavy machine-gun fire and launched several missiles, wounding the five, two of them seriously, said Mu'awia Hassanien, director of the ambulance service.
In the West Bank, the Israeli army raided the cities of Ramallah, Hebron and Nablus on Monday night and arrested 13 Palestinians, claiming they were wanted by Israel.
