France is to create a "French-style Pentagon" that would unite the command of France's armed forces under one roof, French Defense Minister Herve Morin said Thursday on France 2 television.
"The idea we are putting together is a French-style Pentagon," Morin said, adding it would be "a great cathedral where all of the main leaders of the French army would work together, around the minister."
Morin rejected speculation that the armed forces would be cut by as many as 50,000 personnel, while saying that France wants a smaller, better unified military.
According to Morin, the headquarters building would possibly be in southwestern Paris.
