The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) on Saturday accused the United States of deploying fighter planes in South Korea recently, saying the move is contrary to the denuclearization process of the Korean Peninsula.
"Such moves reflect the true intention of the hostile U.S. policy toward the DPRK," a spokesman of the official Peaceful Fatherland Unification Council told the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).
"The aforementioned deployment by the U.S. is evidently an open challenge to the improving of inter-Korean relations and the process of peaceful settlement of the nuclear issue on the Korean Peninsula," the KCNA quoted the spokesman as saying.
The spokesman demanded the United States stop such provocations immediately and honestly fulfill its obligation to peace on the Korean Peninsula.
The DPRK has to beef-up its self-defense force in the face of any challenges and provocations against regional security and peace, he said. Source:Xinhua
