The U.S. government has invited Indonesia to participate in the second Major Economies Meeting on Energy Security and Climate Change to be held in Honolulu on Jan. 30-31.
"The two-day meeting will further the shared objectives of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, increasing energy security and efficiency, and sustaining economic growth," the U.S. Embassy here said in a statement Thursday.
The meeting also will help "to advance the negotiations under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change," it said.
The participants that have been invited included Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, the European Union (Current EU President Slovenia and European Commission), France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Russia, South Africa, South Korea, United Kingdom, and the United Nations.
