The Democrat Party of Thailand will nominate its party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva for the post of prime minister on Monday meeting of the Parliament.
The Parliament will hold a session on Monday to nominate Prime Minister candidates and vote for the post during the same meeting.
Democrat spokesman Ongart Klampaiboon said on Sunday after a party meeting that the Democrats voted unanimously for Abhisit's nomination.
Early Sunday, the People Power Party (PPP), main rival of the Democrats, also held a party meeting and discussed the issue of voting for its leader Samak Sundaravej to be the Prime Minister.
The Parliament, which was founded after last year's general election, will select the country's new Prime Minister on Monday. Source: Xinhua
