A Palestinian teenager was killed and another citizen was injured on Monday by Israeli troops' gunfire south of the West Bank town of Bethlehem, medics and witnesses said.

The medics said that Qusai el-Afandi, 17, was shot dead by Israeli gunfire as Israeli army forces stormed into one of the city's neighborhoods and surrounded the home of a wanted Islamic Jihad (Holy War) militant.

They said that another Palestinian was shot and wounded, adding that he was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Witnesses said that the soldiers surrounded the home of Mohamed Eisa Aabda, who is wanted by Israel but was not at home at the time, and ordered his family to evacuate the house.

Israeli soldiers, thinking the militant was hiding inside, fired missiles at the house and seriously damaged it, according to the witnesses. They also levelled off the fence of the house by a bulldozer, added the witnesses.
