The United Nations began hosting on Monday a joint exhibition in observance of the Holocaust remembrance.
The exhibition, called "The Holocaust: Stories of Rescue," will be on display in the main gallery of the visitors' lobby at the U.N. Headquarters until 2 March.
Comprising two parts, it featured one about Muslim Albanians who rescued Jews during the Holocaust and the other about Carl Lutz, the Swiss vice-consul who helped save the lives of tens of thousands of Jews from deportation during the Holocaust.
At a formal exhibit-opening ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, Kiyo Akasaka, undersecretary-general for communications and public information, will deliver a message from U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon.
These exhibits are presented as part of a week-long series of activities on the Holocaust Remembrance.
