Armed prisoners held three staff hostages in Honduras on Tuesday to demand a getaway vehicle, according to news.
Prison director Horacio Arqueta, his secretary and a policewoman were taken captive by two inmates at La Esperanza state prison, said local police.
The two prisoners refused to speak to anyone and just asked one of the hostages to tell others that they want a getaway car.
The situation was under control, said the police, noting other inmates remained in their cells under strict surveillance.
The staff were instructed not to negotiate with the suspects, and the police said they would not use force unless there is no alternative. Source: Xinhua
