The Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta was completely closed Friday morning because of heavy rains that reduce visibility range.
Flights from the biggest airport in Indonesia were delayed and incoming planes were diverted to other airports.
"The main problem is the poor visibility range because of the rain, there is no problem of water submerging the runways," airport head Hari Bakti told Metro TV.
At least 15 passenger planes were diverted their landing to theJuanda Airport in East Java and the Badaruddin Airport in South Sumatra. Source: Xinhua
