Six were killed as a small plane crashed on Friday in northwest North Carolina amid an unfavorable weather, according a local TV report.

The two-engine plane, which was en route from Georgia to Virginia, crashed in a neighborhood around lunch time in Mount Ariy, killing all on board but not injuring anyone on the ground, TV WX II said.

The report said that the plane crashed when it attempted to land at the airport amid low fog.

Citing local official, it also said that the five-passenger King Air C90A carried the six people to Virginia for a hunting excursion.
