Two Pakistani employees of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) went missing in Pakistan's tribal region, an ICRC spokesperson said Sunday.

Sitara Jabeen told reporters that the two left the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar Saturday by car to Afghanistan but went missing in the Khyber agency.

She said that ICRC employees traveled between Pakistan and Afghanistan routinely and they usually informed the ICRC office about their travel plan but this time the ICRC got no information before their departure.

The ICRC had talked about the incident with Pakistani officials and the authorities were trying to look for their missing employees, she said.
