"China's experiences can help the World Bank shore up its leading role in global poverty reduction," said World Bank's newly appointed chief economist and senior vice president Justin Yifu Lin in an exclusive interview with Xinhua on Tuesday.

World Bank President Robert B. Zoellick Monday announced the appointment of the Peking University professor as the new chief economist and senior vice president for development economics at the World Bank.
