Palestinian militants fired two rockets from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel on Tuesday and hit two factories in Sderot town.

Both the Popular Resistance Committees (PRC), a radical militant group, and an armed wing of Fatah claimed responsibility for the attack.

In a statement faxed to the press, the fighters said the rocket attacks came in response to the killing of Amer Qarmout, a senior PRC commander by Israeli air force on Monday.

Fatah's armed wing of al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades said the rockets were fired at 8:00 a.m. (0600 GMT). They also pledged more rocket attacks.

Israeli sources said the rockets caused damage to the factories and several nearby cars.

The level of home-made rocket attacks notably decreased after Hamas withheld its attacks, however, militants from other factions fire rockets occasionally in response to Israeli raids.
