Pakistan will host the international conference of Asian political parties this year, Prime Minister Mohammadmian Soomro said Thursday.

The proposed International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAP) General Assembly would be hosted by the Senate of Pakistan while the government would provide necessary financial, logistic and administrative support, according to an official statement.

Soomro, while appreciating the idea of holding such a conference, said that it would enable the participating countries to share each others' best practices.

The interaction, he said, would promote understanding of political cultures and means to resolve the problems of the common people so as to improve their standard of living.

Chairman of the Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed, said that the ICAP general assembly comprises 245 political parties across Asia.
