An earthquake measuring 5.4 Richter scale rocked easternmost of Indonesia on Monday afternoon, no report of damage or casualties, the meteorology agency said.
The quake struck at 16:37 Jakarta time (0937 GMT) with epicenter at 26 kilometers southeast Papua province and at 10 kilometers in depth, an official of the agency said.
Indonesia is laid on a vulnerable quake-hit zone so called "the Pacific Ring of Fire," where two continental plates meet causing frequent seismic and volcanic movements. Source: Xinhua
