At least three people were killed in a suicide attack targeting the convoy of Afghan National Army (ANA)Friday afternoon in eastern Khost province, reported local TV.
Meanwhile, sources from both the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) and the U.S.-led Coalition forces confirm it as a suicide attack against ANA in Mando Zayi district of Khost province, but neither of them gave the exact number of casualties.
However, Zabihullah Mujahed, the purported Taliban spokesman, told Xinhua from an unknown hideout that the outfit carried out the suicide attack against an ISAF convoy around 1:30 p.m (0830 GMT) in Khost province.
Conflicts and Taliban-related insurgency had left more than 6,000 people dead in 2007, while observers predict more suicide attack and roadside bombing in 2008 in the post-Taliban Afghanistan. Source: Xinhua
